State Bar officials argue over open meeting law requirement

A State Bar trustee clashed Thursday with top bar officials about whether they were taking steps to ensure the backing of the agency's 16 sections for maintaining a unified organization.

SAN FRANCISCO - A State Bar trustee blasted bar officials Thursday for trying to make it easier for its specialty practice groups to comply with the state's open meeting law.

The skirmish, which featured a heated back-and forth between Trustee Dennis Mangers and Bar President David Pasternak, came during a meeting of the bar's Governance in the Public Interest Task Force.
