Splitting 9th Circuit Is Costly, Conservative Ploy
Forum Column - By Erwin Chemerinsky - The proposal to split the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a politically motivated attempt to make the federal courts of appeals much more conservative. The result would be more cost to the taxpayers, less efficiency in the disposition of cases and partisan judicial gerrymandering of the worst sort.
