Apple must weigh cost of court battle in e-books case
Apple and the two publishers that did not settle civil antitrust charges filed by the U.S. Department of Justice Wednesday must now weight the costs and benefits of fighting allegations they colluded to fix prices in the e-book market.

WASHINGTON - While three publishing houses settled with the U.S. Justice Department upon the Wednesday filing of a civil lawsuit for alleged price-fixing in the e-book market, Apple Inc. and two other publishers must weigh the costs and benefits that go along with fighting the suit in court.
