Idea theft trial ends with fireworks

An idea theft trial over the film "The Last Samurai" came to an end Friday when a federal court jury ruled that screenwriters Aaron and Matthew Benay never actually submitted their script to the producers for consideration.

LOS ANGELES - A closely watched and highly contentious Hollywood trial came to an end Friday when a federal court jury ruled that Bedford Falls Productions Inc. couldn't have stolen ideas from screenwriters Aaron and Matthew Benay - because the ideas were never submitted for consideration.
