Plaintiffs win class certification in Countrywide case

SAN FRANCISCO - A federal judge gave a class of homeowners the green light to pursue claims against Bank of America-owned Countrywide Home Loans Inc. and several other mortgage lenders over their treatment of option adjustable-rate mortgage loans. But he also slashed the size of the class nearly in half.
