More patent cases reassigned under pilot program

A pilot program designed to steer patent infringement lawsuits to judges who have the aptitude and interest in hearing them is already attracting cases in the Central and Southern districts of California.


After a slow start, judges are taking advantage of a program that allows them to avoid time-consuming patent cases by reassigning them to colleagues who have agreed to hear more of them.
