Cities urged to end work solicitation bans

Advocacy groups are asking a dozen California cities to undo ordinances banning day laborers from soliciting work in public areas.

Advocacy groups are asking a dozen California cities to undo ordinances banning day laborers from soliciting work in public areas.


In a statement this week, MALDEF announced it sent the cities "the first wave of demand letters," asking them to repeal the ordinances "in order to avoid the high costs of litigation on the issue."
