Voters take divergent views on development

Pleasanton - Voters on opposite sides of San Francisco Bay went in opposite directions regarding growth control in November elections. While residents of the Tri-Valley cities of Pleasanton, San Ramon and Livermore rejected measures that would have required public votes on new residential projects as small as 10 homes, citizens of Half Moon Bay and Fairfield scuttled hopes for a more lenient attitude to development.
