Oil company mergers leave office space on the market

Commercial real estate in Bakersfield is a study in contrasts. In office buildings, there has been significant play, especially in Class A space, where overall vacancy is high. Industrial property vacancy is low, but most new construction is build-to-suit. Retail is the most active property type in terms of new tenants and new centers.
