Counts dropped in DeCinces insider trading case

The government has voluntarily asked to dismiss several counts against two people who allegedly made money off secondhand information, after the 2nd Circuit overturned two of the government's key insider trading convictions this month.

SANTA ANA - The government has voluntarily asked to dismiss several counts of insider trading against two people who allegedly made money off information they got secondhand from former baseball star Doug DeCinces. A Central District judge granted the motion Thursday, which prompted DeCinces' attorney to ask for a similar dismissal Friday.
