FCC unanimously votes to open broadcast access to video websites

Commissioners aim to favor consumers and start-ups by broadening the definition of entities allowed to buy and stream network programming.

Internet video providers could soon stream broadcast TV programming legally under a new classification likening them to cable companies, according to a Federal Communications Commission proposal Friday.
