Law firm associates who received sizable spring bonuses last year should not expect a repeat this year.
Mid-year bonuses were popular among large firms last year because firms were trying to make up for cutting year-end associate bonuses following the recession, according to a firmwide managing partner at a prominent West Coast firm who spoke on condition of anonymity.
