Jury asks about deadlock in Oracle, Google trial

While jurors try to decide whether Google Inc. infringed Oracle Corp. 's Java copyrights, attorneys in the case turned their attention to what damages might be owed if the Mountain View-based search giant is found liable.

SAN FRANCISCO - The jury deliberating Oracle Corp.'s complaint against Google Inc. for infringing elements of the Java programming language in the Android operating system may be deadlocked.


At the end of a fourth day of deliberations on Thursday, a juror sent a note asking U.S. District Judge William Alsup: "What happens if we can't reach a unanimous decision and people are not budging...
