Both sides to pay legal fees in meal-and-rest cases

Rather than shift the power to either side in employment litigation, state justices restored plaintiffs' lawyers to steady footing by reversing a lower court's finding that an employer could recover attorney fees.

In cases involving missed meal-and-rest breaks, each side is generally responsible for its own legal costs, the state Supreme Court ruled Monday.


Rather than dramatically shift the power to either side in employment litigation, the justices restored plaintiffs' lawyers to steady footing by reversing a lower court's finding that an employer could recover attorney fees.
