Sun CEOs clash with lawyers, each other at Java trial

Two former chief executives of Sun Microsystems Inc. contradicted each other Thursday in back-to-back testimony over whether key elements of Java programming language could be copyrighted.

SAN FRANCISCO - Two former chief executives of Sun Microsystems Inc. contradicted each other Thursday in back-to-back testimony over whether key elements of the Java programming language could be copyrighted.


Oracle Corp. acquired Sun two years ago, and with it Java, which Oracle now accuses Google Inc. of infringing in the Android operating system, unveiled in 2007.
