Police union sues over impound rule

The suit, filed Thursday by the Los Angeles Police Protective League, claims that the impound rules adopted by the LAPD create a conflict with the state's Vehicle Code.

The union for Los Angeles' rank-and-file police officers has filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department and the city seeking injunctive relief against the recent change to the force's impound policy.
