Letter to the editor: Doctor conviction unjust, unwarranted

I write to respectfully disagree with Bruce Fagel's conclusion that the conviction of a California doctor for second-degree murder will have an impact on the practice of medicine. By Stephanie Charles

Bruce Fagel's recent column, "Pain pill doctor's conviction is a first" (Feb. 9), lauded the conviction of Dr. Hsui-Ying Tseng for second-degree murder. Tseng had recklessly prescribed narcotics to her patients, three of whom overdosed and died.
