$400 million renovation of San Vicente Reservoir nears completion

With the reopening of the San Vicente Reservoir just months away, and Poseidon Resources' desalination plant up and running, the water authority now can concentrate on other capital improvement projects, many of which are ongoing.

After about seven years and more than $400 million worth of work, the San Vicente Reservoir is expected to fully reopen for recreational use sometime this summer.

Fishing boats are expected to be allowed in first with more powerful craft, like those used for water skiing, to be let in later.

The reservoir's new marina features a concession building, spaces for more than 250 boat trailers, and a 900-foot-long concrete launch ramp with six lanes.
