In Silicon Valley, a Tale of Two Executives

Some observers say the disparity in the cases of Steve Jobs and Gregory Reyes, two longtime Silicon Valley leaders caught up in the stock-options backdating scandal, illustrates the government’s fear of taking on a successful icon such as Jobs, the Apple CEO. But none can say exactly what evidence, or lack thereof, drove the decision to charge one executive and spare the other.
