Discord stymies effort to reform state toxics law — for now

With no public announcement, a letter to businesses and consumer groups by CalEPA last week confirmed that troubled talks over Prop. 65 reform meant legislation wouldn't be introduced this ession.

SACRAMENTO - Despite making a big splash in May, Gov. Jerry Brown's ambitious effort to reform the state's toxic chemicals warning law, Proposition 65, fizzled just weeks before the end of the legislative session.
