Courts to Legislature: additional funding will translate into better services

When the Legislature approved a budget increase for courts in July, the $60 million came with a requirement that courts show how the funds would be used to preserve or expand the public's access to justice.

State courts will use $60 million in additional funding this year to reopen two courthouses and help maintain or even increase some services, according to reports released Friday by the judicial branch.
