More dissents, less bloc voting in state Supreme Court term

The state Supreme Court appears to be in greater ferment than last term, with more dissents and less bloc voting than usual.

The state Supreme Court appears to be in greater ferment than in recent years, with more dissents and less bloc voting than usual. The court had 14 cases with dissents and concurrence- dissents in the term that ended Aug. 31, 2012. In the most recent term - which began Sept. 1 and ends Saturday - there were 19 such cases. Perhaps more telling, the number of separate opinions across the board rose considerably. ...
