Alleged Criminals Released

LOS ANGELES - Three administrative Superior Court judges allowed alleged burglars, batterers and carjackers to go free rather than pay court staff overtime, according to court records obtained Thursday by the Daily Journal.

        Sixty-one defendants originally were ordered released, but only 30 hit the streets.
The releases occurred May 28, when the downtown arraignment court was handling Memorial Day weekend overflow cases....
