Finally Getting a Handle on Gun Control

Forum Column - By David A. Lash - Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca barely could hold the 50 mm assault weapon in his outstretched arms. It can hit a target miles away. Baca urged it be outlawed. A victim of gun violence told of being shot five times by the brother of the man who had shot her small daughter to death. The mother somehow survived her multiple wounds, but a stray bullet from the attack killed an elderly woman in a nearby house.
