Monterey inmates seek immediate changes for 'life-threatening' issues

A preliminary injunction motion filed Tuesday in an ongoing federal lawsuit against the jail asks for a court order to force the county to fix a handful of problems before the case is set to go to trial next September.

Lawyers for inmates in the Monterey County Jail on Tuesday filed a preliminary injunction motion seeking immediate changes to six aspects of the jail they've deemed life-threatening and unconstitutional.
