Advocates for immigrant children warn about due process violations

The Obama administration has ordered courts to move recently arrived kids to the front of the line. But attorneys, civil rights advocates and even some judges say the accelerated process may be depriving the children of due process.

Liz, a 17-year-old Mexican girl, recently crossed into the U.S. near Tijuana. Like thousands of other unaccompanied minors, she hoped to reunite with family in the States. The Office of Refugee Resettlement, or ORR, placed her in a facility in Chicago, and eventually released her to her mother in Los Angeles.
