Most people need more legal help than they know, new survey finds

A new study from the American Bar Foundation found that many people do not understand problems they experienced to involve law, suggesting lawyer must rethink how they connect with those who need their services.

Americans need more help with civil legal problems than they realize, according to a new study released Friday by the American Bar Foundation.


Two-thirds of people surveyed said they had experienced a troubling civil justice situation involving housing, debt, work, divorce, insurance, education or personal injury during the previous 18 months, but they sought help from any sort of outside advis...
