New bills to curb 'revenge porn' draw praise, debate

Bills to allow search warrants and make it easier to convict people who circulate nude photos of 'revenge porn' could help fight the odious practice, according to some legal experts. But others warn against overbroad efforts.

SACRAMENTO - Police officers will be able to seize hard drives and pull warrants to look for "revenge porn" under two new bills to combat the phenomenon of jilted lovers and malicious posters spreading compromising images online to humiliate their victims.
