Celebrating Humanitarian Efforts

Nearly 800 people attended the Anti-Defamation League's annual celebration Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, which raised $1.1 million to help ADL in its fight against anti-Semitism and bigotry. Actor Hal Linden served as master of ceremonies and lit a Hanukkah menorah to open the evening's activities. The ADL honored longtime supporters Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer and Mel Keefer with its Humanitarian Award for their commitment to the community, including support for the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging, the Weizmann Institute of Science, the Wellness Community and California Oncology Research Institute. The Jurisprudence Award went to Peter Schwartz, senior executive vice president and general counsel of Westfield, one of the largest retail property companies in the world, and a major sponsor of the event.
