Marriage Mayhem

Forum Column - By Ira L. Shafiroff - In Lawrence v. Texas , 123 S.Ct. 2472 (2003), the U.S. Supreme Court abrogated the nation's anti-sodomy laws. In the aftermath of Lawrence , the debate on same-sex marriages has intensified. According to recent polling data, as reported by the New York Times, most Americans are opposed to same-sex marriages. This is not because of bigotry or hatred but because a legal and moral case for same-sex marriages cannot be made.
