State settles with drugmaker for $23M
As a part of a nationwide pay-to-play insurance fraud case, the California Department of Insurance announced Friday it had reached a settlement to the tune of $23.2 million with since-acquired Warner Chilcott PLC on whistleblower accusations that the pharmaceutical company had used kickbacks to convince physicians to write more prescriptions.
