In a unanimous verdict, the state Supreme Court declared Monday that the violation of a 120-day limit on the detention of an incompetent minor did not constitute a violation of due process.
The 120-day cap was issued by the presiding judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s juvenile division and therefore lacked the force of law, the court held.
