Incoming LA County Superior Court executive officer used to 'doing more with less'

State and federal court judges and lawyers say they expect Sherri R. Carter to display the same fearless, tough approach in her new post that she exhibited in her previous roles.

When Sherri R. Carter was installed as Riverside County Superior Court's executive officer in 2008, the court had a mounting problem on its hands. The jurisdiction had one of the largest civil and criminal backlogs in the state, and the chief justice dispatched a special "strike force" of visiting judges to help clear the jam. A cumbersome records system exacerbated the issue.
