The jurors, not the judges, render verdicts

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR COLUMN

I feel very badly about the article concerning Judge Mark V. Mooney. ("Award for LA judge spurs ethics debate," Dec. 15) Every legal organization across the United States awards certain judges because of their outstanding contribution to the justice system.

In this case, maybe the defense lawyer who lost should be reminded that the jury rendered the verdict not the judge.

Did the jurors also receive awards...
