Activists Oppose Expansion of 'Green' Port
Many environmental groups oppose Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Attorney General Jerry Brown's plan to expaned the Port of Los Angeles as a "green growth" project and have threatened to sue to block it. The dispute exposes a rare rift in the long-standing alliance between Brown and California environmental groups.
