RealNetworks, Movie Studios Wage Battle Over DVD Copying Product

Web Exclusive - U.S. District Judge Marilyn Patel of San Francisco late Friday halted a daylong courthouse shuffle over RealNetworks' new software that allows DVDs to be copied onto computer hard drives. The day saw lawyers rushing to courthouses in Los Angeles to San Jose to San Francisco. Patel temporarily halted sales of the software and scheduled a hearing for Tuesday.
