Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke at the annual gala dinner of the Southern California chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel in Los Angeles Friday night. The event drew 1,200 attendees and raised $40,000 for Public Counsel. In a speech and Q&A session that followed, Rice, now a professor at Stanford University and a fellow at the Hoover Institution, addressed a range of topics. She said she thought Arizona’s new immigration law was bad policy but offered a robust defense of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
