It was a heady morning at Buchalter Nemer’s downtown Los Angeles office, where nearly 200 attorneys and staff members gathered to watch managing partner and CEO Rick Cohen shave his head. Cohen, who asserts he was “born with hair,” offered to lop off his locks if the firm’s shareholders could raise $7,500 as a tribute to Virginia Banker, Buchalter’s director of operations who is battling breast cancer for the second time. The drive has raised $30,100 so far. Members of the Buchalter’s San Francisco, Orange County and Scottsdale offices tuned in to watch the shearing via videoconferencing on the firm’s new TV screens. - Lisa Kestenbaum
