Judge protects permit for oil offloading facility in Richmond

In a loss for those fighting the growth in trains carrying crude oil into California, a San Francisco judge on Friday rejected a bid to shut down an oil offloading facility.

SAN FRANCISCO - In a loss for those fighting the growth in trains carrying crude oil into California, a San Francisco judge on Friday rejected a bid to shut down an oil offloading facility in Richmond.


Superior Court Judge Peter J. Busch ruled from the bench that environmental groups waited too long to file their suit claiming that air regulators failed to do an environmental review of the project.
