OC courthouse brawl prompts recusal request

A defendant asked for the Orange County district attorney's office to be disqualified under the "outrageous government conduct" doctrine.

A criminal defendant in Orange County unsuccessfully sought Friday to dismiss his case under the "outrageous government conduct" doctrine, claiming a violent altercation between a court-appointed attorney and a prosecution investigator in the hallway gave two witnesses who could exonerate him cold feet.
