Stuart Gasner of Keker & Van Nest in San Francisco carved the waters of Hawaii Saturday during the Hawaii Bar Association’s "Landshark Invitational" surf competition. Held every year for members of the Hawaii bar, the event took place at the Kewalo Basin in Honolulu. Gasner, a partner in the firm’s white-collar criminal defense practice, won the Makule (Hawaiian for "old") 55+ shortboard division and placed third in the Makule longboard event. Prior to joining Keker & Van Nest, Gasner was an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Hawaii from 1989-93.
