Retired Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Lillian M. Stevens, who spent nearly 20 years on the bench, died March 17. She was 87.
Stevens had struggled for some time with complications from a thyroidectomy and tracheotomy performed several years ago, according to her daughter Janet Stegman.
