Theodore J. Boutros of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is defending Grubhub, a Chicago-based company, over whether its workers should be classified as employees in a suit filed by Shannon Liss-Riordan of Lichten & Liss-Riordan PC.

A bench trial starting Tuesday cuts to the heart of the sharing economy, likely deciding whether its workers are employees or freelancers.
