“Wells Fargo bill” to bar arbitration in fraud cases approved in state Senate

The Consumer Attorneys of California have gotten the “centerpiece” bill of their 2017 legislative package to the governor’s desk.

SACRAMENTO — The Consumer Attorneys of California have gotten the “centerpiece” bill of their 2017 legislative package to the governor’s desk.

SB 33 is an arbitration measure designed to give defrauded bank customers their day in court. But business groups have warned the so-called “Wells Fargo bill” itself could be tested in court.
