Campaign finance bill wins approval, could boost political law firms

A much-followed campaign finance disclosure bill has made it through one of its final tests in the Legislature.

SACRAMENTO — A much-followed campaign finance disclosure bill has made it through one of its final tests in the Legislature.

But the bill known as the Disclose Act has lost some of its bipartisan shine in recent days amid growing opposition from Republican lawmakers. This followed a letter last month from the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association claiming recent amendments favor labor unions and that the bill is unconstitutional.
