A woman who lost a job offer from Avis Budget Group Inc. after a failed background check said the company mistakenly ran the check on her twin brother instead.
She’s now suing Avis, along with the company that did the background check, arguing that the flub revealed several violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, or FCRA. The law requires consumer reporting agencies to follow certain guidelines to ensure an accurate report.
