9th Circuit weighs constitutionality of invocation before school board meetings

Two judges sitting on a panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals described the facts of a case involving prayers before a local school board’s meetings “egregious.”

PASADENA — Plaintiffs in a First Amendment suit urged the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday to ban school board members serving more than 10 million students in the western United States from praying publicly during meetings.
