Litigations mount in Intel security flaw fallout

Investors for the San Francisco-based chip developer allege company omitted dangers of a security flaw in public filings.

In the wake of revelations its chips could be vulnerable to new security threats, Intel Corp. is facing litigation from consumers and shareholders.

Filed this week by a class of investors, one lawsuit alleges Intel violated federal securities laws by failing to inform investors about the chip’s flaw, which exposes all Intel-powered computers and smartphones using the chip to the security bugs known as Meltdown and Spectre.
