9th Circuit says judge overreached in immigration checkpoint case
A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled Tuesday that a district court judge gave too much deference to the Department of Homeland Security and didn't give proper judicial weight to the First Amendment in a case in which the government forced protesters to stay 150 feet away from an immigration checkpoint in Arizona.
