Senators introduce bill to kill patent transfers to tribes

In a legislative bid to squelch arrangements such as the controversial deal in which Allergan transferred patents to a Native American tribe, five U.S. senators have introduced a bill to allow courts and other agencies to review patents regardless of what they described as sovereign immunity claims made as part of “sham transactions.”
